Cain Velasquez Talks Injury, Won't Be Offended By Interim Champ

UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez had been set to defend the title in April but an injury to his shoulder has forced him to sit out until at least the Fall of 2011.

In the meantime the UFC may or may not introduce an interim Heavyweight Championship and if they were to do that, it's something the current champ wouldn't have a problem with:

"We tried to rehab it first for six weeks. Then, finally, when the six weeks was up, we did another MRI. The muscle was still torn, so they said we have to do the surgery. I definitely want to be as active as I can. It?s hard, but it?s part of the territory. People get hurt all the time. [The UFC needs] to keep the fights going. They can?t wait around half a year for fights. It doesn?t offend me at all. When I?m ready, I?ll come back and fight."
